The federal, the individual state governments and local governments seek to do business on a competitive basis, with competent businesses that can supply products and services as required by manufacturing and/or delivery specifications and schedules.
The government market is large and growing. The federal government alone is the largest consumer of supplies and services in the world! With small business goals, no other market provides more potential opportunity for small business than government contracting.
The Southern Alleghenies APEX Accelerators (formerly referred to as the PTAC, Procurement Technical Assistance Center), housed at SAP&DC, provide one-on-one counseling to businesses guiding them through vendor qualifying criteria and to the appropriate market entry points while instructing them on the protocols and procedures for each market. The APEX Accelerators also assist agencies and other stakeholders with business research and other contracting requirements. We serve an 18-county region in central Pennsylvania. SAP&DC APEX Accelerator is here to help businesses in Bedford, Blair, Fulton, and Huntingdon Counties. Through our partnership with North Central Regional, Northern Tier Planning and Development Commissions, and Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI), we also help businesses in Bradford, Cambria, Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Indiana, Jefferson, McKean, Potter, Somerset, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming Counties.
