SAP&DC Awards Commissioner for Service as President of its Board of Directors

Mark J. Wissinger served as President on Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission’s Board of Directors from 2016 to the Present.

Altoona, PA.– Cambria County Commissioner Mark J. Wissinger was awarded a plaque in acknowledgement for his service as President of Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission’s Board of Directors. Mr. Wissinger has served as president from January 2016 to January 2019. Mr. Wissigner served on the board from 1992 to 1995 and then again from 2012 to the present.

The Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC) [www.sapdc.org] is a non-profit regional economic and community development organization serving Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon and Somerset Counties. SAP&DC’s mission is to address human resource development, encourage the creation and retention of jobs, and to improve the quality of life for residents of the Alleghenies.

This is Commissioner Wissinger's third term in office as Cambria County Commissioner; he first served in 1992 through 1995 and in 2011 Commissioner Wissinger was elected to serve a second term. On November 4, 2015 Commissioner Wissinger was reelected to serve a third term.

Mark Wissinger and his wife, Debbie, have 3 children (2 sons and 1 daughter) and grandchildren.  Commissioner Wissinger and his wife reside in the Ferndale area of Johnstown.

Blair County Commissioner Bruce Erb was elected President of the Board of Directors on January 21st, 2019.
