The Spotted Lanternfly, a native of Asia/India, is a threat to many industries and could possibly move into our region. This destructive insect feeds on a variety of over 70 species of plants, including hardwood trees, grapes, apples, peaches, ailanthus, hops and ornamental plants. Keeping this pest at bay is critical to Pennsylvania business and agriculture.

To help educate those possibly affected by the Spotted Lanternfly and to help combat the spread of this invasive insect, the SAP&DC and Northern Tier Regional Planning & Development Commission are happy to present this informational event.

You will learn: general information about the Spotted Lanternfly including initial detection, biology and life cycle, current distribution, impacts of pest feeding, recorded damage, pathways for spread, and control methods. In addition, you will also learn what to do if you find a SL, quarantine expansion, compliance agreements, etc.

Who should attend: Loggers, Foresters, Sawmills, Agriculture, Fruit Farms and Orchards, and General Public.
