Intermodalism

Intermodalism is the combination of two or more modes of transportation, the connective link that enables easier flow of people and goods.

Intermodalism creates a complete transportation system that produces:

  • Reliable and efficient movement of goods and people
  • Economic vitality
  • Convenient and safe travel
  • Improved quality of life
  • Decreased environmental impact
  • Equitable access to travel for all users

SAP&DC’s RPO Intermodal Coordinator (IMC) facilitates intermodal activities in the four rural counties.
