The Planning and Community Development Division is responsible for economic and community development, transportation planning and programming, technology development, and strategic/regional planning activities.
The Planning and Community Development Division can assist local government and non-profit organizations in the following areas: project development, financial assistance, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), strategic planning, agency referrals, community vision, transportation planning, telecommunications and technology, and local capacity building.
The project sponsor must complete a project profile form and consult with SAP&DC staff. This enables the sponsor and SAP&DC to evaluate the project’s feasibility and identify the requirements for time, funding and organizational efforts. Project benefits are reviewed.
Alternative courses of action may be developed to optimize the project’s outcome.
