The SAP&DC Energy Program assists local governments, schools, hospitals, and non-profits with energy-related issues. The Energy Program provides assistance on reducing short and long term energy use and costs through education, training, and technical assistance.
Services provided through the Program include free or reduced cost utility bill analysis, energy assessments, and workshops. SAP&DC has partnered with energy consultants and agencies that can help local governments, schools, hospitals and non-profits apply energy saving practices.
SAP&DC Energy Program services include:
- Technical Assistance: Provide information to help local governments identify energy reduction needs and find energy-related services. Research funding opportunities for potential energy efficiency and conservation projects.
- Utility Bill Analysis: Complete comprehensive utility bill analyses and evaluate energy consumption and costs.
- Energy Assessments: Coordinate comprehensive, on-site energy assessments as an important first step in developing an energy management program.
- Bulk Purchase Consortium: Investigate cost effective ways to procure energy efficient products including, but not limited to, procurement and installation of energy efficient traffic or street lights.
- Training Workshops: Provide information on energy efficient equipment, funding opportunities, conservation practices, and other energy-related topics.
