Technology Advisory Group (TAG)

The use of technology in the 21st century is broad and vast in scope.  Businesses and local governments must keep pace to sustain and improve our economy, our workforce and our way of life.

Rural businesses and communities find themselves falling behind in technology that benefits the more populated areas of our region.

Telecommunication infrastructure is critical for long-term economic growth, business attraction, job creation/retention, and a high quality of life.  Broadband opens avenues for online education, telemedicine, e-commerce, and telecommuting applications, while creating a knowledgeable and productive workforce.

The Technology Advisory Group (TAG) meets to discuss technology issues, such as broadband, that affect the economic and community development within the region.  TAG members share their knowledge and provide input for programs to ensure that our technology is an asset to citizens and attractive to those outside the region.

Members of TAG include:

  • Local government IT staff
  • SAP&DC staff
  • Community representatives
  • Technology providers

A new advisory group, TAG held its first meeting in Fall 2006.  Meetings are held quarterly.

Please refer to Upcoming Events on our home page for the next scheduled meeting.
