The Southern Alleghenies Regional Greenway Committee (SARGC) is a sub-committee of the Planning Advisory Committee.

The SARGC is responsible for planning and implementing the Southern Alleghenies Greenway and Open Space Network Plan.

In 2005 and 2006, SAP&DC developed a six-county, regional Greenways and Open Space Network Plan for the Alleghenies, in conjunction with the six county planning commissions, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). 

The plan includes both county-level and regional greenways and projects.
