The SAP&DC leads a GIS Users Group (GUG) that focuses on addressing new technologies, techniques and applications relating to Geographic Information Systems.
The GUG works to develop and implement Geographic Information Systems in the region and strives to advance the use of GIS to promote economic and community development.
The users group provides local GIS professionals an opportunity to share ideas and information. Presentations on a variety of GIS related topics are common at the quarterly GUG meetings.
Members of the GUG represent various organizations in the region:
- County Governments
- City Governments
- Emergency Management Agencies
- Conservation Districts
- Local Colleges and Universities.
